Our Origin Story
EquatorGourmet was born from a passion for authentic flavors and sustainable farming. Our journey began when our founder visited vanilla farms in Uganda and witnessed the careful cultivation techniques passed down through generations.
Inspired by the farmers' dedication and the superior quality of their vanilla beans, we established direct partnerships with small-scale family farms to bring their exceptional product to conscientious consumers worldwide.

Your Questions, Our Answers
Where are your vanilla beans sourced from?
All our vanilla beans are ethically sourced from Uganda. We work directly with local farmers to ensure top-tier quality and fair trade practices.
What’s the difference between Grade A and Grade B vanilla beans?
Grade A beans are plumper, more moist, and ideal for culinary use where appearance and flavor matter—like gourmet dishes and extracts. Grade B beans are drier and perfect for longer infusions like homemade vanilla extract.
Are your vanilla beans organic?
Yes. Our beans are organically grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. We focus on sustainability and natural farming methods.
How do you support farming communities in Africa?
We support Ugandan farming communities by paying above-market prices for their vanilla beans. This ensures they receive fair compensation that’s often higher than what the local market offers, helping to improve their livelihoods and sustain quality farming practices.
How should I store vanilla beans to keep them fresh?
Store your vanilla beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark place—never in the fridge. Properly stored beans can last up to two years.
